Last week Williamstown Baseball Club (WBC) was able to host a school holiday clinic that spanned two full days with the support of Hobsons Bay City Council's 'Make it Happen Grant.' With twenty-eight bookings, attendance was strong and from all accounts a super fun couple of days. Isaiah Finn headed up the coaching along with Ashton Coote and Jacob Bergin, with planning support from Daniel Chircop. The event was organised by Junior Coordinator Michelle Coote and Junior Sub Committee member Jo Tyers. The event is a great pre-cursor to preseason training for summer, and a feeder to recruitment efforts, one that we hope to repeat each year. The clinic was a chance to introduce baseball and our club and our facilities to new kids and their families and a chance for our current juniors to work on their baseball skills and have fun with their friends. Isaiah, who won't be playing this summer due to work commitments in Japan's ski fields, said that "the clinic was well received and provided Ashton and Jacob some invaluable coaching experience." This summer, WBC is fielding a rookie T-Ball team (4 to 8 years) on a Wednesday night, two U12's teams and two U16's teams. U16 Games commence this weekend, and U12's next weekend.
